Got my first hunting dog ever and first dog in 25 years He's a yellow lab pup called Shamus (with huge feet!). Hope to get help training him for upland birds and waterfowl.

Also getting some "V" boards ready along with silos of cans, bluebill/redhead silos, and brant to use with the few other diver decoys I have. I plan to try coastal areas here in NJ. Resident season for canada's is the month of Sept. which starts our waterfowl season.

Best of luck to all as you gear up for the new season.

Good luck with his training mate. Keep us informed.

Cheers, Vince

Thanks guys. Saw the father when I went to pick him up. Shocked Shocked Shocked There was another pup there that I later found out was 3 weeks younger than him. Shamus was much bigger than him.
He's pretty calm for a lab.

He came down with pnuemonia after I picked him up put he seems to be doing fine after nearly a week of treatment (1 nights stay with the vet, daily meds, steam 2-3x a day). The breeder refunded the money to cover vet bills. His wife was in tears when I let them know the little guy was sick.

Seems smart to me. He's 10.5 wks and for a pup does ok with the standard sit, stay, here. I have a paint roll I use for retrieving. He brings it back every time and either drops it within about a foot from me or puts it in my hand. We do a little at a time when he starts running around.
