It has a 20" barrel, kinda hard to find nowadays.....

Maintains the original M16 sight radius

I have a Bushmaster A2 20" 1:9 with a Bushnell 3x9 scope mounted on the sight rail. I did add a Delta cheek piece to get my eye into a better head up positon and cheek weld. Very good on coyotes out to 300 yards with 52 gr hp's.

I have a RRA NM lower and a White Oak Service rifle match upper for competitions. Very good (better than I can shoot) to 600 yards with 75 gr. A-max.

The combinations are endless! the best part is, oncce you have a good lower and a trigger you like, the uppers can be shipped to your door without a FFL transfer!

Start with an A2 with the fixed carry handle, get a .204 with a flatttop, or one of the big bore thumpers. Totally interchangeable within the platform. If you go with the AR- 10 platform yo can get .243 and .260 rem in addition to .308 too. The lowers are different though with different magazine size

The FN FAL is a nice firearm but they are prohibited here and I'll never be able to own one so I own the FN49 the expensive to build then redesigned into the FAL rifle. Laughing

Mind you even a basic DSA Arms rifle is out of his alotted spending money like the M1A/M14's are. Smile

Still if I ever did move to the USA I can see myself getting their 16.25" Barrel Para version. Very Happy

If you were South of the border, then FAL's can be had for less than $600.
DSA's are nice but don't shoot any better than a well built kit gun.
I have access to an Imbel Para when over in the US & it presently wears a 20" barrel. Going to be chopped to 18" but no less, as there can be cycling issues associated with barrels shorter than that.
It's "Minute of Man" accurate at 600yds using an Eotech - the scoped L1A1 I also use for competition is good for 12" groups at the same distance - not bad for a 40 year old battle rifle. Very Happy

Yes there are part kit builds. But I know of DSA Arms hense why I mentioned them have no idea who makes part kit builds or who simply sells complete part kits and receivers to put one together. Smile

DTech (Dedicated Technologies) is an excellent choice for an AR. Mike Milli,the owner, is a very good guy who'll answer all your questions. I have a DPMS .204 that will shoot in the low .3s reliably. I use Ultra high rings, but you might want to consider a EOP or riser block. My friend has a White Oak upper that will print in the .4s.

Can you post pics of your DPMS?

I tried to Google DTech, all I can find is IT companies. Do you have any additional info?

Also, what yardage is the target posted above at, and what Leupold scope is on the rifle?

It was shot at 100 yards off sandbags on a bench. The scope is a Leupold VX-II 6-18x40 Target with a fine duplex.[align=left]
