I took my 23 year old son out and guided him on an awsome Couse W.T. hunt that ended with him taking a nice 110 inch kill. I started glassing at first light and spotted this 4x4. He was ina bad spot to try a stock so I watched him until he bedded down. Using radio communicaton I got him to within 60 yds. and he took the shot so clean the buck never got to his feet. We green scored him in the field with haste getting about 108 and some change. But when we got him home I called one of my buddies that scores officially and we got a green of 110, a record book Arizona Couse. This was his 3rd archery deer which is an amzing accomplishment in Arizona due to the difficult type of terrain we deal with. He had 3 does that were trying get him busted during the stock too. We're going after another one tomorrow for my 20 year old son who has 2 under his belt in the last 4 years. I found one that is significantly bigger than this one, probably in the 118 inch or so class. just can't get enough of this, even after doing it for the last 37 years of my life. I think back to when i was a young boy and even then hunting was of my greatest desires long before I ever experienced the sport. I was the only one in my family that was attracted to the sport. My Father never owned a gun or bow and had absolutly no desire to hunt or fish. My boys, and my daughter are the only ones of any extensions of my family that live for the outdoors, and of course first and foremeost, the Lord Jesus Christ. Even my wife is an avid hunter and outdoors woman. She helps in some of my guiding and has accomplsihed some impressive kills.
its in the blood!

gobbuster: thanks for the post. That is a significant accomplishment for archery on Coues deer. Those little whitetails can be the source of nightmares and addictions! I say that from experience. Obsession comes to mind.

Now, while the Coues is a very small whitetail, IMO, it is not "small game". For many of us that have placed game in B&C, getting the 120+ Coues is among the most difficult of tasks, even with a rifle! But, the dreams continue and the planning goes forth.

Much luck on your future endeavors and hunts.
