Sunday found me at the range again. It was a beautifull day to burn up some gun powder. My Super Redhawk did it's best to make me look good at 50 yards. Most likely my White Tail hunting gun this year. I had an opportunity to shoot a Magnum Reasearch 500 S&W Magnum. This is the second time I have shot this round. It is still a very stout load. It may be the gun of choice for big bears and the like but I find it uncomfortable to shoot. I know you only suppose to need one shot, but the practice part would take some getting used to. The two of us posted an excellent group, but compared to the 44 magnum it's work.

I also had my 25-06 out mostly burning up ammunition but it sure is fun to do. it doesn't get much better than that.

Hi Longwalker,

I see a few of us were helping the powder and bullet companies stay in business this past weekend. I took my wife and her girl friend to the range...I didn't get that much shooting in myself, it was for the ladies this time. Did a little defensive training with the wife and continued teaching her firiend how to shoot safely. Burned up around 600 rounds from .45 ACP, .357 mag, .38 spec to .22....Anybody else???

I TOOK THE WHOLE FAMILY OUT ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND DID A LITTLE SHOOTIN. LIKE BUSHMASTER, I DIDN'T DO MUCH SHOOTING MYSELF. SPENT MOST OF THE TIME RELOADING MY 22 FOR THE KIDS TO SHOOT. I DID CHECK THE ZERO ON MY 300 ULTRA MAG AT 200 YARDS. 3 SHOTS UNDER 2 INCHES WAS ALL I NEEDED TO SEE. I THINK GETTING THE YOUNGER KIDS TO SHOOT IS IMPORTANT. TEACHING SAFE HANDLING OF FIREARMS AND SUCH. ALSO GETTING THEM INVOLVED WILL HELP SECURE THE FUTRURE OF SHOOTING SPORTS. I AM NOT ONE TO PUSH SHOOTING ONTO THE KIDS BUT IF THEY ARE INTERESTED I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO TEACH IT TO THEM.

I had a wet morning on the range today. I was very annoyed to see many live 22 rounds scattered around the fireing point I was useing. Why don't people clean up after they shoot. It doesn't take much to pull the head off a 22 round and render it harmless if it's too dirty or damaged to fire.

You got to be kiddin' Beezer...You aren't their mother? And you expect them to clean up after themselves. If you won't be their mother you have to expect them to leave things lying around.
