This past weekend the annual FlyBC spring FishIn was held in my home town of Quesnel at Dragon Lake. 65 members and their families from BC, Alberta and Washington State made the long trip to partake in the big Rainbows Dragon Lake has to offer. Not to mention the fun, friendships (both old and new) of the event in general.

Here is a link to the thread about it at FlyBC: www.flybc.ca/forum/ind...3&st=0

This is my largest Rainbow of the weekend. It's too bad the pic was taken with a cell phone camera cause it sure doesn't do this fish justice. [img][/img]

Even with a cell phone that is a gourges fish. Wish I could get through the rattle snakes at the creek I grew up fishing at, even though all it has is catfish.

Great fish, looks like you had some real fun too.

Awesome fish Grant.....I'm green with envy mate. Well done, good fishing.

The "flotation device" you are using mate......am I correct in assuming that you have your feet dangling in the water? Wouldn't be game to do that over here in the saltwater creeks and rivers I fish....the bull sharks would have a field day.

Once again, good fishing mate.

Cheers, Vince

It was a nice fish, about 28-29 inch in length and fought like a bulldog. One of my fishing partners lost one that we figured was much larger. Dragon Lake has Rainbows that will go over 20 lbs, we think his would have been pushing that upper limit.

We had a blast last weekend, took me a few days to recover from all the long hours of fishing and the even longer hours of consuming wobbly pops.

Yes Vince, me feet's are in the water and no I don't think I'd use a pontoon boat if there were Bull Shark around either. Many of us use these pontoon boats up here now, they are an awesome way to fly fish lakes or even drift rivers.

This was the logo for the FishIn that was on all the jackets and T-Shirts and Hoodies. The Artist is a member from Washington State and it was neet how he incorporated the colours of the Rainbow trout into the dragon.

29" would put that fish at about 10+ pounds Grant.
Nice going, and smoke it up. Very Happy
