I took my 13 year old niece turkey hunting yesterday and we were lucky enough for her to kill her first animal on her first hunt. She killed a jake with a 2.75" beard, but judging from her reaction, she had a book bird. Ohio has a special youth only turkey season, which gives the kids a chance to hunt just before the regular season opens. Her parents are unsure of having her pictures on the internet, so until they give me the go-ahead, I cant post her pics. This is the third year in a row I have been present for a youngsters first bird. What a rush!!

Good job on all 3 years of bird hunting with kids! Very Happy And congradulations on your nieces first bird. Smile

Last year was a bust for me, instead of calling in a tom I managed to call in a Hen. Confused

I got a call this morning, my neice killed her SECOND bird. Her father took her out and they whacked a double!
