He is a good tracker, but us Indian girls can be hard to find in the forests.

Bushmaster

what do you do when not in a rut??? Haha
could help it, it was there had to.

I track my fellow coworkers at work just for fun.
Between my father's teachings and Tracker's I am most interested in becoming more proficient at it. Especially eluding.

And nothing wrong with curiosity.

regards
Keetowah

I was trained to track when I was a teenager to my early 20s by a Klamath friend of mine. I can do both, elude and find. Most familiar with working the West Coast mountain ranges. Really not too bad for a white guy...

Bushy,

Tracking's about how someone pays attention, partner, and about knowing what you're after. Sure as hell not about skin tone or the guys that taught me would never have even spoke to me. Being part of both, I'm generally too dark for one tribe and too pale for the other Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy , but I did pay attention to the guys that I hunted with, I believe I would trust in your tracking skills sir. Few fellas here that I would say that to, and that kind of surprised me, cuz there's not a lot of people I would generally say that to anywhere.

I'm not touching the whole curiosity conversation, I've skinned too many cats in my day (um, metaphorically people)

Here's something anybody tracking any body or thing needs to remember. If the tracking appears too easy, maybe it's because it wants you on that track. I'm remembering an incident between a hunter and a grizzly out in Alberta several years ago. The grizzly circled the guy and forced him to the edge of a cliff. They had aerial footage that showed how the griz set the dude up, end of the day score was grizzly bear 1, hunter ....didn't complete the game.

Hey (oh-oh the husband) No offence intended. I was partially raised next to the Klamath reservation. My friend was killed in Viet Nam and I sorrially miss him to this day.

I've been tracked (stalked) by big cats on a couple of occasions. Not a pleasent feeling...

Hey man, no offence taken, I was just saying those of us with Injun blood dont necessarily own the rights to how to track, (we just perfected the techniques is all) I know some of my "brethren" that couldn't find their own a--hole with two flashlights and a compass. Oh, and not the husband....yet....

I chased a lynx one time, this is back when I was like 11 or 12. It came into our yard at night and we could hear it crying, man they sound like a human baby. Anyway, everyone in the house created this almighty ruckus and the cat took off, so I took off out the other door with my .22. I bet I tracked that @#$@%% for a good two miles, it'd just stopped raining so most of the tracking was super easy and then I lost it in some heavy brush. I gave up and headed home, the rain had cleared off and I had good moonlight. Two different places I found where the lynx had moved back, crossed my path and got ahead of my again to do it again. Then I remembered how some older guys had told me that a lynx will set up in a tree and drop on top of your head, that was a pretty scary walk out for a 12 year old. Never faced up any cougar in our neck of the woods, there's a woman in Montana who we won't mention who I think is expecting some kind of mounted cougar as a gift from me..hmm....

Hey sorry about your friend in 'Nam, see I woulda said your brother, cuz to me...warriors and hunters form a bond that few others are ever aware of, and isn't something that hunters always make the best warriors...guess it just makes sense.
