While millions of people in the San Francisco area were watching the Super Bowl, my friend Jerry and I went to the Squirrel Bowl. It was the kind of day you dream of to go shoot a few ground squirrels, bright sun, blue sky, green hills and moderate wind. Very Happy The squirrel density wasn't heavy but, we found pockets here and there on the ranch. About a dozen on the dam of a stock pond, probably 20 on a hillside pasture and a half dozen while moving from place to place. Saw one coyote but, I was slow finding ammo so, El Coyote will get to steal a few more chickens. Confused

The old 223 with the new barrel and the brand new Choate Ultra Varmint stock was like a precision instrument today. That is, it was after I got back in the groove. At the end of the day there had been several 300 yd ground squirrels to add to the tally.

So, who was playing in the super bowl? Wink

It was dark here at Superbowl time.

Eagles and Patriots. Pats win via a serious case of stupid time mis-managment by the Eagles. TO put on a show and tried his best to carry the Eagles; but STUPID coaching/QB play mananaged to ensure defeat.

It was dark within an hour of game time. Besides the fact that it was about 10 degrees outside, and not many varmints out this time of year.

Sorry to sound like a scrooge of sorts, but I simply canot relate to a bunch of millionaires playing a kids' game and getting even richer from it. It doesn't do anything for me. I'd much rather be hunting squirrel. Best wishes.

Didn't know bowling was so popular - or that it was such a spectator sport. Don't all those people clog up the lanes a bit? (Tongue ever so slightly in cheek)
