Usually a town south of me puts on a big 4th show and the Airforce from Hill AFB flys something over them to start the day / parade. They usually pass over my house on the way there. This year it was supposed to be F35s. Sadly I was outside with camera ready and they took a different route south, well to the west of me. Fantastically, I looked at a map of our state (huge!) and they flew up and down most of it, alot of small towns that never see jets like this all got a taste of those awesome screaming engines. Pretty neat.
This short is from DC, some spectacular aircraft /flex'ing for everyone to see

Sadly with the extreme drought and too many massive wildfires, they shut down most of the state to fireworks for the 4th. We have several fires approaching 100,000 acres in size.

OUCH…that’s not good, and I suppose your forests are all pine tres too, which is not good because they catch fire so easily and burn like crazy, in fact, they pretty much explode. I remember when I was in the US back in 2018, I was taken through te bushfire area that had burnt near Redding CA…it was really terrible, downright devastating.
Stay safe mate.

Its all a mix of burnable vegetation from Pines in the high country to Juniper and various brush like Oak Brush and long grasses in the lower country. Getting rid of Juniper trees is a huge boon, those act as moisture radiators, they dry out the soil and release the moisture into the air through evaporation. They ruin the range lands where they grow.
A couple weeks ago the wind was just right to blow the smoke from two fires right through where I live... the sunlight turned a dark and gloomy almost pink color, and ash was falling like snow. The closer fire was still over 30 miles away, which I believe is where the ash was coming from, but smoke was from both (farther one was 150 miles away).
That closer one started as 1 fire and burned North East from the origin. Then two more south west of it started, those two combined at some point into a huge blaze which moved north east until it joined with the original fire. Its a moonscape there where its burned off.
