Fur is sold commercially,I believe it has two main uses, rollers in nylon mills as it has no static.and mixed with merino it's great in knitted jumpers etc, extra soft and extra warmth.

Absolutely outstanding mate. Young George is getting a perfect grounding with your training and help.

That’s no mean feat taking a “wobbily” at 250 -300 yards. He’s learning real well. Won’t be long and he’ll be showing you how to do it mate.

first day,we went up to mates place and watched him skin two porkers, then bone them out,George gave a hand to cut meat up into portions to be fed through mincer.... getting great lesson at same time on how to bone out animal....hard to get that when you dont have animal to begin with.Bill makes it look easy... yesterday was our wallaby day. good walk with a few dodgy bits..that "mortitions slab" ,Ive posted photos of it before...18" to left of your butt is an abyss,a shear drop of 50 or so meters down into rocky gorge... its cold and its awkward to get lined up,even for experienced shot its not easy.the cross breaze was blowing the wee 50 grn pills about a foot to left..but plurry hard to judge gusts. He did very well to connect with the tw oshots he did. the 300 yard jobbie ABSOLUTELY smoked wallaby,It never moved just slumped forwards then rolled over dead...the close range one was on walk out, just off side of walking track,I was in front with rifle has shot one couple of hundred yards back ,we were just moseying down track reasonably quietly,I looked up to left and spied wally sitting watching us,I beckoned to Lad to come up to me,them arounf to my right side, handed him rifle said its ready to fire, shoot that wally,he took rifle like a pro,up and smashed it through chest,it too just flopped over dead.... we skinned out two earlier in day as I had shot them in nice sunny spot and flat...I did first one, showing George where cuts went,he did 2nd one perfectly,I skinned mine out and helped him where needed..now his one had been hit twice, first shot was in puku department so yucky, smelly and bloody..not a flinch or complaint was heard, the lad skinned it out perfectly.... we opted to just keep good clean skin and made sure to have a good wash up.
today we went up to lake for hoon in the dingy,I managed one trout which lad netted for me... gave him big berreta and had a few speculating shots at geese just cause we could..no surprise nothing fell but gave him new experience....next time I will do it properly and give him few shots first lol. home this afternoon.filleted trout then reloaded a few rounds of 223 so another 2 new experiences..was sad to put him on bus to head homewards. a real credit to his parents for raising such a well mannered polite young man.
