Over here we have to be a bit careful of pig numbers depending on where we are. Completely different to outback Oz or wide open Texas corn fields. Most hunters will leave sows alone to breed BUT if your on farm and cocky says kill everything ...well you best be doing so or won't be allowed back,or other folks get let in to do it. With good dogs it would be all to easy to almost whipe out local spot...then where do you hunt??? So it's a real balancing act.enough pigs to hunt, enough to keep feeding yourself n friends, enough to give dogs something to hunt BUT not too many to do too much damage to ground, vegetation or new born lambs.... These boys would catch me a pig within couple of KMs or hours if I let them go.the red collar you can see is a real game changer since I hunted as a teenager. Not only can we see on map where dogs are and if barking.but can give them a tone, buzz or zap if needed to bring them back from boundary line or stop them scragging a young pig. These boys even hunt with muzzles on so can't chew up small pigs. I tell you THAT took a lot to get my head around.and I've still grabbed n stuck pigs with them!!

Pumba...aka arsehole cause he has put two of my buddies in hospital/ vets... Much respect MUST be given when dealing with pig this big, solid and educated. As long as dogs behave and just bail/ bark all is good..but if dogs take gloves off and bite he can turn real naaasty really quickly.folks pay good money to come and get training from my mate. Having pig on hand to watch and more importantly control dogs around can make huge difference to young or inexperienced dogs.... Of course if fella has lots of easy hunting with lots of pigs they can work it out on own...but training can speed things up and/ or head off issues early

Taken me a week to get the drop on a dirty underarm bowler.he was trying to sneak out the backdoor behind me but I rested trebly on fencepost and fixed his needings.
