you will be fine ol bean... old flesh heals slowly but it heals hard.... we humans are pretty good at adapting to new ways of doing things. recoil therapy helps.

Well, I have the splint off, but things still aren’t working properly…yet. It’s to be expected though as things have been immobilised for the past six weeks. The Ortho said it could take up to six months for things to be good. I just hope I can write and sign my name…as do our local Police.
The bloody medical system has its grimy little hooks into me too. If it’s not one thing it’s another. It seems I have one appointment after another, at least three a week now!
Oh well, I’ll be able to handload now, so recoil therapy isn’t far off, and I can get my new scope zeroed.

speaking of zeroing scopes....I checked both my break open singles today with help of my black n decker workmate table..the top of it is in two halves that split open and clamp things via two handles on long screws..I clamp barrel in the jaws and slowly carefully move table till its lined up on something thirty or so yards away...something cellphone sized is ideal...by keeping eye half meter or so back from breech end I can get object well centred in the bore....then without bumping table its simple matter to move crosshairs onto same object...I find this even more accurate than using a bore sighter/collimeter. I can do the same with bolt action if slide the bolt out. good enough for under hundy yards and will get a fella on paper to zero it properly later on...

I use to use the neighbor's garage door. He had a medalian in the middle. That later way may be something I just might try.

I did some searching and came up with this:
Scope aligning
I’m sure it could be adapted to bore sight as well.

Now that is a useful technique. I use two levels but sometimes I wonder of the reticle is really square in the scope.
