from what Ive seen here..it will be four long arms..... but the wording of some bits is farcical...ban belt fed shotguns...ummmm when was the last time you saw one of those??? looks like straight pull actions are gone.pump action rifles too....button actions??? so pretty much followed the knee jerk reaction we did over here with addition of a cap on numbers...on that one they backed off and primary producers and looks like sport shooters can hold more...so some semblance of sanity.
as for the religious angle...its past time the top brass,if you like, the leaders of the major denominations and different groups all got together for a week/month/year and sorted out their "collective shit"..start each day with reading from first five chapters of the old testament..after all they are shared by the big three groups....time to realize they ALL worship the same God..yes that isnt a misprint..Christian Moslem and Jew all have the same God..and they know this...but it seems they have forgotten this fundamental thing...well past time it was reminded to all....then and only then can the splinter factions that branch off into terrorism be brought in check..... remove the backing of the "mother church" for want of a better term and they will fizzle out as support will die away... the concept of we will allow and support the terrorist bits as it is heading towards end goal HAS TO CHANGE.... or we as a species are doomed to another umpteen thousand years of the same crap.
yes the hero of the hour has moslem faith...awesome...work that angle,he did WHAT WAS RIGHT.... because it was right.... not because his particular sky magician said too do it....
and one of the police who was shot in process of stopping terrorist was four months into the job...... what a way to start career .

Getting the leaders together to hash out their problems is good in theory mate, but unfortunately all too often it’s the leaders of the different factions, especially religious leaders, who are at fault. We’ve all seen some of the drivel they come out with, and had a good laugh at some of the things they say, but they honestly believe it, and more importantly, so do the people. It’s blind obedience…or be penalised, often massively. Whilst they all share the first five chapters of the Old Testament, and they may worship, or at least ‘accept’ the same God, that is where it stops. The overall leader of the Islamic religion, who is worshiped as the only and highest deity, is an imposter, preaches pedophilia and extreme actions against Christians and those who reject him…”MooHamid”. Religious leaders, who in reality are the leaders of each faction, will never accept other religions or reject their own beliefs.
Then we have another bigger problem, the many factions will generally only agree on one point…destroy anything even remotely Jewish. Apart from that, they distrust and hate every other faction, other than their own of course, and they would not be agreeable to accepting any idea or decision from another faction, neither would they risk losing any of their power over their people, or their position of power to another moofty.
Until such time as they accept that we are all human beings and equals both male and female, with similar feelings, wants and desires, there will always be problems mate.

Unfortunately you are 1000% correct mate. This internal battle between factions has been going on for a thousand years or more, so we aren’t going to be able to put a stop to it. Or, more importantly…the leaders of each faction will not cede any power to another faction…even by accepting them as equals.
Something came out in the news this morning that really surprised me…
“Brisbane Imam urges Muslims to expose ‘monsters’ in midst
A prominent Brisbane Imam has urged Muslims to expose “monsters” and declared solidarity with Jewish Australians following the deadly Bondi Beach terror attack.”
I wonder how long he will last in his role?
To bring it all into context, and maybe get a better idea of the problems, see the following…
Islamic factions primarily stem from the Sunni-Shia split over leadership after Prophet Muhammad, with Sunnis (majority) following elected caliphs and Shias (minority) supporting Ali's lineage, leading to numerous sub-sects like Twelvers (Jafari), Ismailis, and Zaydis, alongside other smaller groups like Ibadis, all with distinct theological interpretations and legal schools (madhhabs).
Major Branches
Sunni: The largest branch (around 85%), believing leadership should follow the Prophet's example (Sunnah) and elected successors (caliphs like Abu Bakr). They follow various legal schools (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali).
Shia: The second-largest branch (around 15%), believing leadership (Imamate) should stay within Prophet Muhammad's family, specifically Ali and his descendants.
Key Shia groups include:
Jafari (Twelver): The largest Shia group, following twelve Imams.
Ismaili: Believe in a different line of Imams after the sixth.
Zaydi: Consider a broader group of descendants as Imams.
Ibadi: A smaller, distinct branch, predominantly in Oman, with unique views on early caliphs.
Other Significant Groups & Movements
Sufism: Mystical dimension within Islam, found in both Sunni and Shia traditions, focusing on inner spirituality.
Wahhabism/Salafism: Conservative, reformist movements emphasizing a return to early Islamic practices, strongly associated with Saudi Arabia.
Extremist Groups: Groups like ISIS and Al-Qaeda, often identifying as Sunni but rejecting mainstream Sunni and Shia practices, responsible for significant violence.
Core Differences
Succession: The fundamental split is over who should have succeeded Prophet Muhammad.
Imamate: Shia Islam emphasizes divinely appointed Imams for spiritual guidance, a concept less central to Sunni Islam.
Law & Theology: Different schools of jurisprudence (Sharia) and theological interpretations exist across branches.
Not sure if I counted correctly, but I believe there are nine different factions and it’s anybody’s guess how many little offshoots from each faction exist, each with slightly different beliefs or interpretations of their governing factions teachings.
My head hurts now…I think it’s time for a bacon and egg sandwich and a beer or two.
