Over the last few weeks, I’ve been building a Wi‑Fi–controlled target timer for our pistol club—and I’m pumped about it! No more dead remote batteries, broken antennas, or flaky switches putting the range on pause. This new timer works from any phone or tablet—Android, iOS, or Windows—so if you can open a browser, you can run the line!
To keep things fair and smooth, the access point password is fully changeable. Flip it, and the system instantly disconnects everyone and spins up a fresh, gun‑themed password—so nobody accidentally hogs the timer. Clean, fast, and under control.
While most features are tuned for UIT shooters, it also packs a full IPSC timing mode with adjustable total time or target‑to‑target intervals—dial it in to make every stage more exciting and challenging.
Still on the to‑do list: make the enclosure as presentable as the tech inside. That polish is next!
Here is a short video on the operation of the machine,
the servo motors representing target banks is staggered in operation because they are time hogger, it is designed just to represent the operation and would not be part of the finished product.
