Same over here...there is a common cold/flu like virus that lasts a couple of days doing the rounds here. It’s not all that nasty though, thank God.

Everyone should get their flu shot ASAP. No exceptions unless medically necessary. I got mine a month ago and oddly enough I was feeling right down for a couple of days then whatever it was passed. Something is going around here in the great white north.

I agree. I’ve had both a flu shot and the pneumovac for pneumonia without any problems.

I've never had a flu shot. I have had the childhood vaccinations and an occasional tetanus shot but my immune system seems to handle things pretty well.
I just don't get the flu or even colds. I'm sad... they don't like me.

All of the world disturbed for this pandemic disease, To bring it to small numbers globally we need a vaccine. Many rich countries will be able to keep the number of cases small (including the US) if they do the right things but developing countries will find it very difficult to stop the spread so a vaccine is critical. A group called GAVI helps buy vaccines for developing countries and they will play a key role once we have a vaccine being made in volume. Thank You!!

have the slums n gettos of the globe been decimated by the virus????
with poor sanitation and over crowding SURELY the death toll must be horrendous and the resulting new sanitation/hygeine issues must bring on typhoid etc too...yet the media hasnt been active and we ARENT seeing the photos of piles of corpses????
anyone KNOW what is going on and WHY we arent hearing/seeing it????

I think mostly it's not being covered due to a mix of travel restrictions & nobody wanting to go & risk being infected.
Add to that a huge under-reporting of numbers, either through lack of resources or intentionally, plus poor healthcare services & thus poor testing.
Then there's the families of the deceased just getting on with burying them with no public record of the death.
There's no way India's official numbers accurately represent the reality for a start.

Testing and reporting are lagging behind in a lot of countries 3rd world or not.
Brazil is almost on its knees, Portugal heading the same way, how have they worked that out? The current daily death rate and the capacity of their respective medical facilities.
They test what they can but for a lot of countries they just cant do the volumes of testing required.
The media, you expect concise facts from those pr@#*s? Facts reporting isnt on their agenda.
Here in oz we are apparently the 51st state of the usa if you listen to our media and most of our news stories centre on there, with the occassional story from jolly old england and some backwater called NZ.

Africa, theres a new strain and they cant come in and play, no other news unless something explodes or theres a feminist angle to push.
