context is everything.....that looks to have been hit with arrows not bullets. if the bull is 3" across......then at hundred with rifle ,the written comments MIGHT be relevant on a calm day..........take it out to 500 yards and its almost acceptable shooting.......if it was Vince with open sighted SMLE.... that grouping/pattern at 300 yards would be OK.

The old “smelly” SMLE was designed to shoot “minute of man” at 300 yds mate. The joy is not in shooting tiny groups, but simply shooting the old rifles and enjoying the heritage.

I plan on heading out to the range next week to do some more load development with the Hornady 174gr Interlock RN. I’m going to try the OCW method this time instead of relying upon load data from a different projectile of the same weight from the same manufacturer.
