Did anyone click on the advertiser banner for Brownell's? The are promoting a new AR upper that is piston operated. Kind of interesting. They don't list the weight. Only say it is compatible with AR lower receiver. Nothing about bolts and barrels. I wonder if I can put a 6.8mm SOC Barrel on it?

The biggest reservation I have against a piston system is being able to replace the action parts in hard times. There is no commonality from one to the next so if the company goes under you have no way to get parts. I would love a "standard" to be established so parts were interchangeable. Then, I would buy two!

PaulS, that is a great perspective. The gas systems are so simple and with the new powders, I have not had an issue with mine other than having to replace a gas tube and rings when they wear out which is a simple task.
