no bullet holes in me yet...long may it stay that way..
plenty of knife scars..all self inflicted unintentionally...SWMBO said enough is enough the other week so I finnally have a steel mesh glove,there endith problem.

Been Policing for 28 years now in NZ - seen plenty of people shot either by themselves or others, I’ve come close to pulling the trigger myself 3 times and I’m talking microseconds.
Had a gang member, unbeknownst to me, with a pump action 12 G in a car whilst I ticketted his missus - I knew things weren’t kosher but did my bit and off they went. He was in the ‘armed and dangerous’ category and wasn’t to be approached without SWAT - no one told me!!!
Anyway he got arrested 3 days later so I went and had a yarn with him in the cells, he stated - yep I had that gun on my lap, I asked why didn’t you use it .....his answer: you were fair to my missus........ never forgotten that experience and learning

Too many shootings in the news the past 3 days. The Tree of Life made National News along with a bullying incident that ended in a school shooting. But there also was an armed father at a McDonalds in Alabama on Saturday with his son when a masked gunman entered the store and open fire. He stopped the gunman but he and his son were wounded.

I haven't been punctured myself, but I've been shot at repeatedly when I was in the Belgian army from 2004 to 2008, as I did two 6-month tours to Afghanistan, in 2005 and 2008. Fortunately, most of these were either potshots taken from half a mile away or random mortar attacks and nobody got seriously hurt... The main issue was with IEDs though, these were the big danger for us even if we were in a relatively calm region.
What I remember is that I didn't even have the time to be afraid, as the main goal was to return fire immediately! However, I'd then be scared shitless for a couple nights later on...

I've been shot at on three different occasions, but never hit. I was a lot thinner back then.

The "CRACK, thump" of as a round passes by is a pretty distinctive sound...certainly makes you sit up and take notice...or is that take cover and take notice.
