Sure, you investigate crimes! But you work in New Zealand and not for the US federal government. It is not a crime in Washington state, even though it is still a crime federally.
Besides I have never smoked it, eaten it or otherwise ingested or partaken in any way. They say that 10% of the population in in the same category.
