I guess it depends if you are measuring the lands or the bore. Wink

Picking nits is a dangerous business.

The 270 bullet is actually 7.0358 mm in diameter
So it's not a 7mm either!

The 270 does have a .270 bore diameter which is 6.858 mm
Woops! still not a 7mm!

Some people just won't accept the societal norms. Wink

I tried to explain MM versus inch terms to a NON-gunner once at work. He was SO CONFUSED!!!! As he did not understand how a 9mm could be anywhere between a .355-to .365. Smile .365 you are wondering???? 9x18mmMakarov. Smile

Hoping to go and put some rounds through my "Thumper" this weekend.
Smile Oh and as a side note, my pal just put together a AR10 in 7mm-08.

Really want to shoot that one!!! ya' all be nice now. AH.... who am I kidding. Later

"Thumper", maybe that is what I should nick-name my 6.8mm AR15. You'll be proud of me, Elvis. I ordered 500 Federal 150gr Round Nose bullets to shoot from my 6.8 so I can shot with the .308 AR-10s in our local carbine matches. I should be achieving a powder factor of 350 with an 18" barrel. That will put a thump on those steel targets.

I got to the range with it yesterday. Factory stuff. I need better optics!!!! Anyways at about twenty five yards I was touching them together. I need the better scope to see at distance at a hundred the reticle in the current scope covers the bull. And I am nowhere near where I should be. Thinking WAY high and right. But WOW! IS THAT SUCKER LOUD!!!! HEHEHEEH!!! Oh and the floor plate on the mag likes to move around. Need to fix that soon. Looking forward to playing with it more.
