You may have served in combat or non-combat.
You may have retired, or you may have served for a short time.
You may have been a draftee or a volunteer.
You may have served in the Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or the Merchant Marines.
BUT YOU SERVED. You did your job HONORABLY and for that I am PROUD to call you Brother.
You may have served during Korea, WWII, the Persian Gulf, Iraq or Afghanistan, but you served, you did not run.
You have a DD-214 with those words "HONORABLY DISCHARGED". Two of the most noble words in the world. And I am proud to know each and everyone of you.
The Bushmaster US NAVY (ret)

Yes.

Thanks Bushy! You can call me a brother I don't care, gender doesn't matter in this case. I was just watching Das Boot last night, seen it before but it's so well detailed and true to life you really feel for those guys. The early subs must have been hell. At the beginning of the movie they say that 40,000 men were assigned to the German U boats and 30,000 never came back. Anyways those guys had to be quite a tight bunch too, the interior of those subs was 10x150 feet.

And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,From this day to the ending of the world,But we in it shall be remembered-We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he today that sheds his blood with meShall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in England now-a-bedShall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,And hold their manhoods cheap while any speaksThat fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
To all that serve and have served our heartfelt thanks.
