Welcome back Marty...where ya bin hidin' mate? Have you got a secret ladder somewhere, where Suz can't git to ya wiv her switch?
Seriously mate, good to see you back on board...I'll be looking forward to hearing what you've been up to while away. |
Vince, good pal, , I have missed your wit. Suz must have a sweet spot for me. She has never beaten me with her switch, even all these years, and I know that I have more than deserved it at times. . . . and I don't even have a ladder available - they are frozen under ice and snow.
Only a couple of things have changed around here while I was away.
First, I have made the commitment to carry full-time, 24/7, so:
I spent the winter burning through lots of 9MM, 38SPL and .22 ammo. Training for defense burns through ammo so much faster than target shooting! Man-sized targets at close range for speed vs one-hole groups at 20 yards with all the time in the world is quite a change of pace.
I am ordering some new targets for racing. Champion has a few cool new targets. One I am planning to copy, maybe make several this Winter for friends. Yup, Vince, I have you in mind - but don't get excited quite yet, I am one terrible procrastinator. This target is set up like a (American) football field. The key is a double spinner target, one above and one below the nut they are both mounted to, on a screw shaft. The top target sends the spinner to the left, and the bottom to the right. In front is a "football field" with yard markers and end zones. The object is obviously to drive the spinner to your offensive end zone. I can think of lots of games to play with this target. If you have trouble visualizing this, check out championtargets.com
Also may make a popper that launches a clay pigeon when it drops, and will be picking up a couple of those spoked clay pigeon holders that spin as targets are broken.
Oh NO - I just realized that I better hide them all when the kids come visit. otherwise I will be spending ALL my free time reloading ammo for them !!!
Second - well, this message is too long already - will have to wait . . . -
