A special message to my wife and all my friends that I have met over the years, this one is for you!!
As I approach my twilight years, I am struck by the inevitability that the party must end. And one clear, cold morning after I'm gone, my spouse will awaken in the warmth of our bedroom and be struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't "anymore."
No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute."
Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, or say "I love you."
So while we have it, its best we love it, care for it, fix it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick. This is true for marriage.....and old cars, and children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, and aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.
Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a son-in-law after divorce. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.
Life is important, like people we know who are special. And so, we keep them close!
Suppose one morning you never wake up, do all your friends know how you really feel? The important thing is to let every one of your friends know your true feelings, even if you think they don't love you back.
So, just in case I'm gone tomorrow, please rest assured I voted against that asshole Obama.....both times.
Now the NSA knows how I feel ,,,Can you hear me now ?

I try to let family know how important they are and I use the words "I love you" often. I don't say it as much here but I hope you know that I do care about you folks and I am happy to be part of this family too.
You guys and Suz have helped me through some of the rough spots in the last 8 years and now that I am on the mend maybe I can return some of that.
Thanks for being there.
Paul

Buncha softies.....age...that's what it is.....Pete posts a blast to Obama and all you guys can see is the mushy preamble, meant to warm your heart so the last sentence can blast you back to real life....Oh well....very kind words should not go without praise and I have ta say from the bottom of my sometimes correctly beating heart that it's not often so many people of so many origins and realms can be so kind to one another and even in hot debate remain friendly enough for such lasting relationships as this forum represents. Even proud to be mushy and loving people and really that's what maturity is all about. We've all learned the hard way what life brings us and it's not easy, when you're young, to accept your fate. I think it's a sign of maturity because when you get older you have the knowledge of been-there-done-that and you know what works and what doesn't, in life, in happiness, in business and relationships in everything you've experienced.
Cultures with extended family living have that superior knowledge built right in. It helps to have a dictionary around, an encyclopedia of life's ups and downs because without it you have to guess your way through life or ask someone to help. We have that here in this forum. If Bushy needs a hand gettin a leg up, or Vinnie needs to start wearing underware, we're here to help get them through it. Not like it's our job, but it's what caring people do automatically. Just look at the influence we've had on some of our members. Paulie got out from under his monk disguise and shows face, I got ole fnuser to wear a cowboy hat (now he's on a bike, thanks to Stovie).
We feel free to moan about our aches and pains (me included) and it's alright, because we're caring people. Isn't that nice and far from where we were as teens and twenties? It's not because we don't have anything better to do. It's because we found a really cool way to ask a question without being embarrassed (that's me) or we found other people that we feel comfortable with sharing our little moments with that others' just don't have time for (me again) and it really fills a much needed to fill void in our lives. I like to write stuff and I like to be heard and I like to be funny and I like to tease and can hide behind a very very old picture of a much younger Suz (which makes me feel attractive and young) and get away with it.
I too appreciate everyone here and would love to at least handshake (because who knows what your breath is like) everyone till dizzy. I've spent plenty of time on here getting well, eating dinner, avoiding TV, researching, asking questions, masturb.......(no not that)......uuuhhh where was I.....uuuhh...anyway, what a great bunch of people. Knowing that you all feel the same way (and I don't think any of you are gay, but if you are please feel free to open up) {this should be good} uuuhhh know you all feel the same way makes my eyes water and stuff like that.....I gotta get to bed, it's late....moe later
