I don't know if I like this or not with all manufactures under one roof. Tapco was a moderate line of accessory's for shotguns, ak, ar, etc platforms. What stinks in the milk is the freedom group is a private company and I don't think they are regulated by the feds.

Freedom Group is owned by Cerberus which was founded by Steve Feinburg who is a stauch supporter of the Republican party. Dan Quail works for Cerberus. I would be more worrued that they will leverage the companies they own with debt and claw out as much equity in dividends as possible. This is the pattern of investment in the manufacturing sector that has hurt so many people and made the rich even richer. These investments are then packaged for sale to the middle class in funds. It is them who take the capital value hit when the inevititable weight of all that debt forces the company to restructure. That usually means moving production out to China while keeping the value built up in the company name and product trademarks. In some caes it judt means folding the company up or bankrupcy and selling the name and trademarks. Not all vultures have wings.

I think that the acquisition means that any quality that Tapco had with be gone.

This seems to be their track record so far.

Cerberus Capital Management has been a boogy man since they bought Bushmaster, their first Firearms acquisition.

A number of these companies before the purchase of them were heading under, including Remington, and now their books are level. That is $252 million of debt that Cerberus wiped clean for Remington. It is not "small" change.

I don't know about anyone else, but TAPCO was never "Quality" in my mind, but bottom of the barrel accessories before the likes of Chinese firearm accessory brands came to the market.

I'm with you on that matey - they were big in the FAL accessories market & apart from their excellent Gen4 railed top cover, most of their offerings in that area were marginally functional.

I just figure zero minus zero is still a big zero. Laughing
