Has anyone else experienced that Hornady one shot case lube also does a great job of cleaning brass?
I picked up a can of this stuff from a friend whos husband passed away sometime back. She no longer had use for it so I brought it home and tried it out. I really liked using it over my RCBS case lube because I can use it without the lube pad and it is much quicker also. I found that my brass seemed to go through my dies alot smoother. Anyhow to my surprise when I wipped down all my brass they came out much cleaner. I was really impressed.

Nice to know. I don't reload enough to use a spray lube and I like to feel the cases as I lube them with my fingers with the LEE cream. I read some reviews on the One Shot and they are really mixed with some loving it and others not so enthusiastic. Since I neck size my own fired rifle brass and only FL size other cases I don't use much lube. The Lee rifle dies use a mandril for neck sizing and inside neck lubing doesn't seem to be critical although I do it for FL sizing. I don't lube my 9mm brass in the carbide dies. I have read some do and some don't. I just deprimed and sized 1000 cases without any problems so unless someone can tell me why to lube I will stick to dry sizing.

I would caution you to use plenty of One Shot if you're going to resize case with it or you'll get a case stuck in your die.

After having a couple .30-06 cases get stuck in the resizing/decapping die I relegated it to desqueeking my wife's rocking chair. Does a great job there.

I just started using Hornady One-Shot. Instead of the aresol can I use the hand spray bottle, you get about 4 times as much for the same price. I put the cases in an empty 50-shot pistol bullet tray and sprayed them from all directions. The cases went in and out of the die like butter. Much easier than other lubes I used. Glad I have it!

The directions on the can say to spray some up inside your sizing die before you size the first case, in addition to spraying the cases.
I've had good luck using the Hornady spray, and other brands- I strongly suspect the people who have had problems skipped the first step.
I can't say I've noted that it cleans cases, but, I tumble the cases before the lube/size step, so, I likely wouldn't have noticed.

And at the same time too much of it can cause "lube dents"...

I'll continue to be "old fashion" and stick with my RCBS lube pad.

You? "old fashion"? I never would have imagined it! Bushy, have you cleaned your reel-to-reel lately?

Why yes, as a matter of fact. I have cleaned, demagnitized and lubed both of them just two days ago.

I even cleaned and dusted out the CD player/recorder.

Right now I'm in the process of replacing the tonearm wires in my Dual 1229. One broke today.

Thanks for asking.... Razz

The brass I was sizing looked clean and it came right out of the box that way but the lube actually seemed to clean the brass up even more.
