Day 7:

Mother nature has a serious attitude 9* this am, with a coat of fresh snow. Surprised

Hours walking: 1 Cool

Fresh tracks: 0 Shocked

Deer in the woods: 3 Shocked

Flat tires: 1 Mad

Not a single fresh track but jumped 3 out of there bed in the swamp. They didn't come out though. It's a nasty thick wet swamp can't get them out. Time to bundle up and hit the stand in the morning. Very Happy

Day 10:

Did some serious tromping tonight, hit the swamp that I know the bastards hide in. It was worth it though. I kicked them up but I have no idea how many. I did find "The Whitetail Hotel" there were 12 fresh beds in about 75 yards. Shocked A couple of them were very big. I didn't screw around in there to long in hopes of trying to sneak in there tomorrow evening. I always heard there was an island in this swamp but never tried to find it, well I found it. It's not easy to get to but I think if I go slow and easy I can get in there. Shocked

Day 11:

Deer in the woods: 4 Shocked

Deer hanging in the garage: 0 Embarassed

Only had 45 minutes tonight but I walked into the middle of them. The first one was only offering a gut shot and that really didn't appeal to me. The second one was real close whistling at me but the brush was to thick to see. When I finally got a shot I had an oops, the cap went off but not the charge!!!! Most people would be upset but I accept it as a risk of using a side lock. I have jumped them in the same place 4 times now, hopefully on more time. Very Happy

Come in from downwind, slither like a snake on the ground, then blast 'em all!

Good luck Wiersey. Keep at 'em.
