Even with the ref backing the italians the kiwis have caused one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history with todays draw. Our local media is painting a very ugly picture of italian soccer at the moment....and we are basking in the limelight.

Italians always played dirty soccer. No surprise with the recent game. Look how they won the cup in 2006.

Sounds to me that the officiating isn't exactly fair?

Germany always gets good referees that side with them. Italy has been very lucky so far, and Brazil had their guy in the last game too.
When you give a right wing Mexican the power to referee a game with Germany he will support the Germans, just as putting in a Spanish Franco loving referee, as the last 2 German games showed.
Just as if it was a Greek referee in the Germany Serbia game, half the German team would have gotten red cards so to speak.

Erny - I don't need the congrats its the team, they done all the hard work. What cracks me up is how the Aussies are now crowing about the "Australasian" team that beat the Italians. Unfortunately for Australia they got smashed by poor refereeing not the team. We have our own league down under nd the NZ Team the Wellington Phoenix made it to the finals, yes they do have a number of imports - mainly aussies playing for them but our National team is exclusively NZ Born and bred. - Shit why am I getting so carried away, I hate soccer - I'm a Rugby and Rugby League player and watcher. snigger, chortle, laugh uncontrollably

Dang, Australia although did not qualify, they did good today. Tied for 2nd place for points in their group beating Serbia 2-1.

So I take it you are not affected by the recent Canadian earthquake then Mr D. eh?
Could it be because of the Canadians jumpin up n down celebrating Aussie wins?

Everyone else noticed it, I was too busy limping that I missed it
If a 300lb machine falls off table height do not stop it with your hands and right leg you will feel it the next day.

I was removing a 7" shaper (same model www.boyerfour.com/meta...ainted.jpg ) from my college on its home made metal cart, (so its mine now college was going to scrap it) being so far up in the air it was jumping on the side walk, went to fall and I braced its fall.
It its ok, I already am feeling better.

This World Cup is turning into the Latin Cup.
I am predicting a Semi-Finals of Uruguay vs Brazil and Paraguay vs Argentina.
Then again, Netherlands has been playing like a champ, and may even take Brazil's spot.
