9mm Luger
9x19
9mm parabellum
9mm NATO

All one in the same, The NATO round is loaded to higher pressure !!!

The 9x21 comes in different variants with one of them being based upon the 9x19. They are not the same and are not interchangeable.

Is there even such thing as a 9by 21 luger...or do you think it might be a misprint on the instruction book??

That set of dies will probably re-load both the 9x19 and 9x21 IMI version (Israel Military Industries)

Hornady list theirs the same way. www.hornady.com/store/...uger-9X21/

My Hornady dies say "9mm Luger/9x21". Like using the same dies for .38 Special and .357 Mag.

I don't know if it still is, but in Italy the military cartridges were forbiden for private persons, so instead of the 9x19 they made the 9x21. Easely to convert.
A few years ago we still had similar laws, making it very difficult to get a license for military cartridges. So we converted FAL's into .243 Win and 7-08, changed 8x57 into 8x60 etc.
gunlovers are very inventive when they are obstructed by politicians...

9x21 cases are 2mm longer than 9mm Luger/Parabellum and whatever else you want to call it. They cab be loaded with the same die sets - mostly.

The 9x21 started out life as Italian because they can't own Nato cartridges.

FWIW 9x18 Ultra is a different case altogether.

I just came from my reloading/gun/music room (man cave). My Lee die set is for 9mmX19 and 9mmX21...
