I want to mount a Aimpoint red dot Model 7000S (the S means SHORT) on my hand cannon 10mm, Does any one have experience with Aimpoints?

Is the hand cannon a Desert Eagle, 1911, revolver, or a Glock?
Nonetheless, you will have to fashion a weaver base to the gun (unless it has different mounting system already?) and with a 30mm ring you will be ready to go. I would always suggest a good base and ring set though, like Warne (in stock at Cabelas in dundee) or Precision Reflex (online only), because while they aren't the cheapest around (especially PR), they both back their products 110% and have a phenominal customer support in the rare occasion you may run into a problem.

DEP&Glock. I already have a Weaver base on the DEP, The Glock will have one as soon as the order from Midway gets here.

Get the Warne mounts from Midway also, they are pretty well priced.

I can not give you first hand information on the 7000. I have an Aimpoint 3000 on a Super Redhawk ( 44 magnum ) and have had zero problems with it.

Not familiar with the Aimpoints, but I haven't heard anything nasty about them. I have mounted a Tasco Pro Point 40mm on my older model top eject Winchester Model 94 using an XS Sights sight rail and it is excellent.

XS Sights and Mounts

Never had a problem with movement or the sight loosing zero. Works for me. Very Happy

Crackshot, let me know how that Aim Tech mount works (and feels mostly) because many of my old customers said they couldn't stand the way it felt in their hand?
Personally, i've never had a problem, however, i've never shot a G20 with more than 5 rounds in it, with that mount on to expierence the 'bite' i heard them talking about with constant, or multiple shots/competition.

Just an update, The Aimpoints are working well, the one on the DEP 44mag has stood up to 300 rnds of 44mag loads so far and has stayed zeroed, the Aimpoint on the Glock has not stayed zeroed,(no fault of the sight) the mount works lose some way, and is in my oppinion, no good, I will put the Aimpoint from my glock G-20 on my Turkey gun for now, Until I can figure out a better way to mount a weaver base on my Glock.

There seems to be a company makeing aluminum replacement frames for the Glocks, I will check into getting one and put a mount on frame.
