By voting for the better candidates of lesser parties instead of plugging our collective noses and voting for McCain (the better of two evils)...

Well, not according to the Constitution. But few in DC pay any attention to that tired old doculment, soo ... who knows if he could get away with it?

Actually, at least one Democrat WOULD object if BO tried that, Bobby Byrd! Not that he's opposed to more spending and higher taxes at all but he IS defensive of his Constitutional duties and authority.

I've lived my whole life trying my best to stay on the legal side of the law. It's a shame that at this stage of life I'm going to be forced to become a criminal.

Concerning laws... Remember that at one time it was "legal" to own slaves. In the early 1940s it was "legal" to kill Jews in Germany. What I'm trying to say is that sometimes "legal" doesn't mean crap. Laws are written and overturned all the time.

IMO nothing radical will occur during BO's first term. He will priortize his reelection above his personal drive for change and that means some common sense, politically. When he is reelected with little to loose politically, we may see some rather bizarre proposals.

At this point, I doubt anyone in Congress wants to alienate 66 million gun owners; they, too, want to be reelected in 2010 and 2012.

In the interim, it would be advantageous for the gun owners of this country to become assertive and less defensive. It isn't that we should want less intrustion, rather, we should seek to reverse many of the current gun restrictions imposed by Fed, State or city laws. On the offensive, I say.

Seems all they know how to do is tax this and tax tht.Do their job n bring business here not discourage it with taxes . Got to the point where it's no longer tax but EXTORTION..

Our system has failed the public, we now let the clown with the most money and the loudest mouth rally the majority. The majority being uninformed about the candidates or the issues, they then decide the fate of a whole nation based upon thier lack of information. It is scarry to look at who is calling the shots.

The reason that they are going after ammo is because the constitution doesn't mention anything about ammo specifically and they don't want to look like they hate the constitution.
