ok..so Ive done the google search thing and all articles pretty much say the same thing.. Scratch ....so either they all copy each other..they all wrong or it may be correct.....
I dont need/want to adjust sear or over travel....just the poundage...at present its silly light so want to up poundage just a little
Im thinking/asking,can I simply screw the poundage screw alone????and will this be safe enough to do without playing with the other two???

Is it an X-Mark Pro trigger or a pre 2009 trigger?

Does the trigger have an adjustment screw between the trigger itself and the bolt release that is accessible without taking the stock off? If so, it is the X-Mark trigger. If not it is the older model. Also, is there a small circle stamped into the bolt release?

Wasn't there a recall on Rem 700s for the trigger? I know I had one on the list but decided to just replace it with a Timney.

Elvis, I do t know anything about the Remington triggers mate, but these links might offer you some assistance...

Mr Google’s pics etc on Remington Triggers

More from Mr Google

Maybe you could reach out to a Remington Owners Group in NZ mate. Good luck buddy.

The pre 2009 trigger (Walker Trigger) was one of the lawsuits that put Remington under.

FWIW I have a 700 with this trigger and it's nothing more than amazing, and I wouldn't get rid of it.

My other Remington has a Timney trigger, and while I like it, I don't like the wide shie.

hahaha....tis a JEWEL trigger, simplicity itself to adjust weight up a tad.....try,adjust,try adjust more, third times a charm.....MUCH BETTERER. fired 9 shots last evening for 1 small pig (cut up she fitted in 6 bread bags) and 6 hares ....the dairy farmer whos place I was on was stoked with result.....now there is only 2 little pigs left to get.
look out the big bad wolfs thunder stick is even more user friendly now. I missed 2nd pig last night as rushed the shot after dropping 1st,trigger too light and reflex's got better of me,reached for trigger as Xhairs were coming onto pig,she fired when still 2" away......never mind we live n learn...and now trigger heavier shouldnt happen again.
