I just had the chance to shoot an O/U (Condor Competition 20ga) and a SxS (Uplander combo 20&28ga) today and was fairly impressed!
While i'm not much of a shotgunner anymore (except for the few small game hunts as well), a few times a year i like to shoot clays, and had a chance to today. Ok, i don't do well with ANY O/U but thought i'd have to give it a chance because while it had a Beretta esque look, the adj. comb stock on this thing was amazing (solid grade III wood)! So i set it up and actually shot the best i have with any other O/U at 50%.
Although the action wasn't as smooth as i have felt, extraction was positive and trigger was also fair, and for around $459 (i think he paid that) it's equil to any shotgun double that with it's abilities!
Now the Uplander SxS is more my speed, and i was able to shoot it in both the 20ga and 28ga barrels and felt like it was too good to be true. While the trigger was less to be desired, dry firing made it tollerable but that didn't take away from it's performance, which was rock solid.
The shotgun points very well and shoots even better (both barrel sets doing equilly as well) with my shooting going up from the O/U to 98% (especially with the trigger i was very suprised).
It's reciever is stainless and what got me was the single trigger and not one malfunction, which i do honestly believe with a trigger job, this would actually make into my home and in to the field. Price was around $479 but again i believe it's value and practicallity is equil to an upper level entry SxS!
Thanks for listening.
