|
I picked up a Samsung Galaxy tablet today. Runs on the Android operating system (I think, pretty new to this stuff!). What would be involved in getting PointBlank to run on this? I'm figuring someone familiar with Android would have to rewrite it?

This is actually something I plan to do... time frame wise, I'm not sure when I would start. I am planning to get a android phone... my needs a new phone too so I was hoping they would do some form of combined data plan.
I downloaded a bunch of andriod development tools but havent really done much with it. I need to get it installed and see what it will take to port it over. The ballistics calculations side of the program, is already written to be compatable with most languages with minor tweaks. The rest of it is just recreating the gui and the database management.

There is a free ballistics app for android phones called Strelok, BUT, it does not show trajectory on a graph. There is another app but it cost $, and I have not tried it. I think there would be money to be made from a good app. I like a visual trajectory path on a graph.

I installed the development environment on my laptop... words cannot describe how poor of a system it is. You would think google with all their money cant come up with a better development system.
Not giving up yet, but I need to find a better solution to start down this road.

Hey, I'm an android developer, and was looking to build something similar to pointblank until I found it. It will work for me now, but would love to help on releasing an Android version. Is the src available for PB?
Cheers
