I took a day to go to the African Sporting Expo in Charlotte, NC today. I had a good time chatting with some of the folks there, especially the couple from Getaway Kalahari Safari. There were some BEAUTIFUL mounts of various critters along with some equally beautiful rifles. I'll post a few pictures when I get them downloaded off the camera.
Anyone interested in contributing to my future trip can mail me a check!

Its in the mail. Because prized hunts in the US can be so expensive, its not uncommon to go to Africa and do a safari hunt for the same or lower cost. I know a guy that does this often.

You are in for a lot of contributions, Mike. My check, likewise, is "in the mail".

I corrected this above but the folks I was impressed by were from Getaway Kalahari Safari.

I reckon there's maybe 10 years left in which to do the African safari thing before it's finished.
Right now I'm beginning planning for three weeks over there in 2014, God willing.

Anyone know the top drilling. It looks like a .22 or slightly bigger bottom bore or is it for a cleaning rod?

MacD, I'm pretty sure that's a drilling but I didn't look at the caliber of the rifle barrel.

Those are awesome guns, and great photos PumpSling. Bushy can have the second from the bottom and I'll take the bottom one. Might need a small gun carrier to escort me around the veldt too. He'd have to back me up while shooting too, I bet that sucker throws a punch. Looks very heavy, they didn't spare any metal putting that together.
