Most of the shops around here no longer carry black powder. I managed to find a few pounds of FFG and FFFG at $12 a pound. The one place that I know has it in stock sells it for $20 a can. Just curious because my flintlocks prefer the real stuff. All the best...

The price just keeps going up, like everything else.Right now black powder {Goex} sells for 13.50 a pound at the local black powder shop.Back when I got started in muzzleloader shooting in 1990 it was 7.95 a pound {I still have some old cans}.

One good way is to mail order a case...if you know you're going to use it over time, try and bite the bullet and buy a case of Goex delievered for $10/Lb...or find one or two guys to chip in, then spilt the cans up when the case arrives.

Also, the Goex distributors will mix the case any way you like...I normally get 1 can of 4F prime, 4 cans of 2F, and 20 cans of 3F.

The one I've used a few time is J&JPyrotechnics in Moscow, PA

Moscow, PA is not that far away. I might just try to pick it up some blackpowder. Thanks for the tip. All the best...
