Has anyone used Retumbo powder and have you had success with it?

I have heard that it is an awesome powder for magnum cartridges.

I am going to try it for my 338 RUM.

I have had very good results with Retumbo in a 300 RUM. 180 gr. slug at 3338 ft/sec. This is thru a Browning A bolt with 26" barrel. I think it's worth a try. Good luck
Don

Tried it in a couple cartridges. I think its too slow for anything but the largest cases. I got better velocityies with other powders.

Coyote_Hunter,

Were any of the cartridges magnums?

I am planning on using it for my 338 RUM and possibly 300 WBY Mag.

Yes, 7mm RM/140g TSX and .300WM/180g TSX.

I think you'll be fine with the RUM and WBY, especially if the barrels are over 24".

Works good in my 300RUM. 175 and 180 gn bullets. Under 1 inch which I consider good. If I had one thing bad to say about it, it would be that it does not feed through the measurer as nice as ball powders.

i have used RETUMBO in 7mm rem's, 7mm STW, 257 wby, and 25-06...all have been wonderful performers. i think it is a great and stable powder...should work great on any overbore cartridge and it also keeps your pressures lower than other powders.

just my .02
