Can you give us a little more information. Maybe some of us know this duck by a different name. The only other name I've heard for a sea duck is an "ern," and that came from a New York Times crossword puzzle. Obviouslt that's not much help. Sorry but we need to know more. Best wishes.

I think some people might call Iders and Scooters Sea ducks.
We have them in the Cheasapeake Bay. I think they are all along the Eastern Seaboard or East Coast.

I was supposed to go after sea ducks last January, but everyone came down with something and the trip was scrubbed. The plan was to hunt in the tidal marshes in South Jersey. We plan to try again this year. All the best...

Seen pictures of'em and pictures of people anchoring off and drifting decoys behind the boat with weighted lines but thats all I know about it. Sounds like alot of fun if you arent the type to get seasick (most picts I've seen of people hunting sea ducks are in small aluminum boats in pretty choppy water).
Some of the sea duck breeds are very pretty. Do they taste any different? I cant stand the desert mudeaters we have out here.

Went seaduck hunting, Saturday what a blast fast buggers I had a lot of fun . You have to leed then much farther that regular ducks. When you hit some they dive and come back up and fly away. Some of them dive and never come back up.When they dive you learn shoot when they pop up.
I will try this next year.

I just got back from Maine where hey hunt sea ducks a lot- from boats( layout) and shore--many locals are sick and tired of having hunters shoot them and leave them as most folks do not eat them and they make a mess on the shore.
