"Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package, 500 million Americans lose their jobs. I don't think we can go fast enough." --House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on 12 January on the pork-laden stimulus bill that passed the House last week

Current population of the USA 305,761,815

So this month we need to get 194,238,185 illegal aliens here so we can lay them off.

If 100 illegal aliens crossed the border every minute it would take 32,373 hours to complete the task. At that rate we won't have enough aliens to lay off for 3.7 years. Better just get rid of the border.

God were really in trouble.

I do not think the Marks Brothers could have invented a skit so funny as what is going on in DC. The greenie darling, O'BS wants to waiver eco damage so he can get projects started in under 3 years, there you spotted owl, take that in the shorts. The greenies want his fur. His cabinet selections are from a Three Stuges skit. Just a bunch of thieves and cheats. The stimulus package is just a giant rip off of the people, borrowing money to create wealth, what economics school did they flunk out of? The Dems created the fiasco to get elected now they discover you do not fool with the economy because saying "Hey there is nothing wrong" wont bring back confidence. I love it when idiots come out to play in Washington.
Best,
Ed

Well, we knew that Pelosi was an idiot. You've got to think that the rest of the world is laughing at our govt.

With the economy the way that it is here in the United States, and everywhere else in the world, I don't think that anybody is laughing at anything.

I just hope and Pray that our leaders pass a bill that helps.

Back in the early '80's, I was in the middle of that recession in the Mining Industry.
I saw good folks lose homes and everything else that they own.

Now is not the time to talk dumb.

Let's Pray the OUR President is Blessed with wisdom, and we come out of this mess OK.

Fr. Eric

I pray for the President daily, and I pray to God that he will give him wisdom too.

Listening to Obama lately has me wondering what God he is really listening to.

Saying its not OK to take a human life, and then supporting late term abortions, and now we pay for abortions in foreign country's.

Pushing for a global government.

Sounds like evil to me.

I have great respect for you EB, but I am beginning to think I need to pray for something else for Obama.

The only thing this whole mess reminds me of is Revelations.

Lester--I see the same thing happening to Obama, as happened to Bush.

The right is starting to hate the poor guy, and he hasn't been in office for a month yet.

Yes I totally disagree with him on Abortion and Gun Control, but he has a very hawkish foreign policy team, and I hope that he gets Education out of the dark ages that we have been in for 8 year. No Child Left Behind is hurting our students and the public schools.
Yes--I'm a big Public Schools, and Teacher Union fan.

I also have a problem handing over keys to houses, etc. to people in other Countries, and if we do it for some poor Soul over here, it's called too much welfare.

I am one of the 70% of the American folks who are between the looney right and the looney left.

Give the guy a break. Three weeks into office and the world is turning to sh!t.

I just REFUSE to go through life being that miserable.
My life is good.
I have a great Family.
Great Friends.
God still loves me.
I am Graced by His Mass every week.
But, there are people in Washington who were ELECTED by the AMERICAN PEOPLE fair and square, who deserve better from us than what they are getting.
If we don't like what is happening, we vote them out in two years.
Until then, I thank my lucky stars to be Blessed like I am.
I believe that God wants nothing less from us.

No, our problem is they have no leadership ability, no ethics, no morals, and are there for their own aggrandizement. After 3 weeks Obama is allready proving his incompetence and strong left wing attitudes. They fool enough people to get elected and then tell us to stick it in our ear!!!!! Mad

His tune has sure changed since elected, not saying he blatantly lied over and over again during the campaign, it was only slightly less than blatant. Bonk

I hope he gets everything he deserves. Censored

It's a shame we do not seem to be able to learn from the past. The same things happened when FDR was elected, and Keynes was the top economist. Today's economist say that because of the rampant government spending the great depression lasted 10 years longer than it should have. Stupid

In FDR's speak "we have nothing to fear but fear itself", but then he never met Obama. Very Happy

I did a little research and only found that about 37% of Congress lists their profession as Lawyers, or Attorney's. Argue

Then there are the those who got degrees that only make them suitable for public office such as Pelosi. Evil Devil

"As a student at Trinity, Pelosi majored in political science and was active in the Political Affairs Club, International Relations Club, Dramatic Society and French Club. " Isn't that soooo sweet? scared

They taught her how to spend other peoples money not make her own. Nananana

And while she was not bad off, coming from a political family, she sure married money. She is listed as the richest congressperson elected. Wave

As most elected officials are either wealthy or will be shortly, they can afford to be socialists and force us to pay for their guilty conscience's. Party
