Hey UniBrow.

Do you by any chance own a FAL with a Century receiver?

No sir I don't.
Now I'm Curious why.
I didn't think the answer would turn up in google but now I get it.

I wouldn't mind owning one maybe. I'd be just as happy with a nice .308 bolt gun though.

One important thing...only change ONE thing at a time! (Don't ask how I know this. ) AND write everything down, or you will find yourself reinventing the wheel every couple of years. Shocked Good luck!

well heres my $2 worth. I PERSONALLY dont give a fig what case or primer I use. boy that statement could cause a ruckus. my .270 winchester loves 130grn pills with 50grns of win760. or 54grns of adi 2213sc. that should give you a starting point. check with a manual first.I use a factory round to get seating depth and play with it from there. good luck.

Im fairly new to reloading, but not completely. is it possible to us a 208gr A-max bullet in my .308 Win. I was looking at this bullet because of its high BC and some very good reviews.

It is possible but you are going to have a lot of that bullet in the case and that takes up powder space. You will have to use a slightly fast powder to get to best pressure levels and you can expect velocities to suffer for it.
It will probably have nearly the same ballistics as a 45-70 with a 5-600 grain bullet.

I'd check to see if the twist rate of your rifling will stabilise such a long bullet before buying any.

I'm thinking that you're going to lose so much velocity with such a heavy bullet in the .308 that the gain in BC won't make any difference. If you're talking about a hunting load you may be getting below the best velocity for expansion.
