Well now....Hi Guys....I'm baaaaacccckkkkkk
Had a nice drive down, left at 4:30pm, drove till 11pm...grabbed a coupla hours of Z's then drove the last 3 hours. Got to Mum's place and realised that the job was massive.
Spent the next 3 or 4 days cleaning up around the yard...didn't even get to the painting. After I had piled up all the rubbish, my youngest brother and I took it to the dump....over 600 kgs of garbage !!!
The young brother had arranged to have the lounge and hall floors sanded and finished with polyurethane. I spent a full day ripping up old carpets, linoleum and floor tiles. We moved everything out and waited for the floor sanders to do their thing.
Everything was running smoothly until my brother decided to have a "dummy spit" and went schizo. This is the second time he has done it to me...I wasn't going to tolerate it this time so I packed up, went to visit our mate Gelan, then picked Mum up and took her to one of my other brother's place then drove home to Brisbane...did the trip in one day. Mum is now too scared to go home alone...I have some problems to deal with now. I have my suspicions as to what his problem is, or caused by, but this is not the forum to air them, but I think one of his big problems at the moment is that he is a total control freak.
The old adage is sooooo true..."You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your relatives" !!
But not to worry...I am back home amongst loved ones and good friends in here, so all is good.
Saw a nasty truck accident on the way home. A B Double Semi (34 wheeler) had run off the road and slammed into an earth bank.
They had to cut the entire cabin open to get the driver out, which is bad enough, but the truck was carrying hundreds, maybe thousands, of cartons of beer...they were spread everywhere, over about 100m of road. Beer everywhere.
I knew that I had moved around a bit looking for a signal for the wireless laptop...didn't realise I'd actually ended up goin' bush.
Sorry tikkat old mate...didn't have a lot of notice myself, but I am thinking about going down again in the new year, so I'll let ya know then.
You talk about cows on green oats Cary...you should try working in a dairy after cows have been on kykuyu grass...and you are down in the pit with your head just below the row of "exit orifices".

Have a good trip Vince, and say hello to Gelandangan for me, even though he doesn't want me over at his place this afternoon. |
I reckon Gelan would be more than happy and very proud to have any of us over for a BBQ and a few beers...he is one of the happiest and nicest guys I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Brandy is good 'Mitri, even better for the tummy if mixed with a little Port wine.
Cheers, Vince
