That is a bracket style ranging reticle. The manufacturer should provide instructions on how to use it. Most reputable manufacturers post the instructions on their websites.

That particular reticle looks for all the world like the one on the AirSplat 3-9x32 Red Reticle Rifle Scope. If it is indeed that scope, I hope he didn't pay more than about $35 for it, and I would not recommend putting it on an air rifle or a centerfire. It may be OK for a rimfire and it is definitely OK for an airsoft toy. Also, if it is the AirSplat scope, the reticle is probably meaningless; it is for looks only.

The reticle looks like one I see on the Front of the Sportsmans guide catalog. The scope is a 30 mm tube, 10-40x50mm tacticool unit with 1/8 moa target turrets side parallax and illuminated reticle for $130. It is made by Osprey International. They make night vision gear too. Osprey use Japanes parts assembled in China.... wtf they have a no BS lifetime warranty.
Does it look like this one? They are rated up to .50 BMG This is a 6-24x-50mm unit from another website.

Hey Phill....he didn't buy it on EBay did he? It looks like the ones sold by a EBay seller in Hong Kong. If so, I agree totally with FALPhil.

The seller I am thinking of is Airsoft Accessories Supply and I would have to say that their scopes are lower than the bottom end of the scale as far as quality goes.

Airsoft Accessories Supply

Never heard of Osprey but how I figure it they probably use 2 screws that were made in Japan. So they can say "parts made in Japan" without lieing and making people think all the parts are from Japan. Laughing
