Hi all,

I just ordered some 180 gr. accubonds for my 300 win. mag. I do not have the newest nosler manual. I usually shoot 180 gr partitions with good results. Can one work up a load using the same data out out of the old manual. I am thinking of just loading 3 round and checking pressure with same powder/primer combination I use with the partition like the "OCW" article suggests. Then if all is OK I'll load my partition recipe for the accubond, and see if the accubonds shoot as accurate as the partitions. My partition recipe uses 75 gr. RL 22 with a published Vel. of about 3100 fps. Accaracy is 3/4 inch at 100 yard.

Thank you in advance,
Darin

Howdy. Welcome. Thats what i did for the 308 i used balistic tip data for the 150gr accubond just start light and work your way up and i think you should do fine. I found them very accurate in my rem 788 i can't wait till deer season to field test them good luck, let us know how you make out

akroxy, Just tried the 180 Accubonds out of my Hart barreled 300 Win Mag on Sunday. They shot fantastic, much better than the partitions that I have been using for years. I finally setteled on a load of 73.8Gr's of RL-22 and Fed-215 primers in Win. Brass. That laod gives me and AV of 3060fps and the Es was 24fps and the SD was 10. If these bullets work as well as the Partitions did on Elk. This will become my new Elk load. If anyone has taken large game with these bullets, I would love to hear of your results.

I talked to Mike at Nosler yesterday and he said you can use the Partition or Ballistic Tip spitzer data for the AccuBond.. I can't find any reloading manuals..

I also compared the Hodgdon, Barnes, and Hornady Reloading manual data for the 300 Weatherby Mag, using H4831 powder, 180 gr bullets (The Hodgdon data used Win Fail Safe bullets). In this case, the powder ranges were generally the same regardless of the bullet manufacturer.

Just got back from the range. The Accubonds shoot great!!! My .300 win mag shot a .36 in. group at 100 for a 3 shot group and the 4th shot stretched it to .80 in. This is vertually the same load as my partition load. The exception was 74.5 grs. RL 22 rather than 75 grs. (Pub. Vel. - 3070 fps) I'm happy w/ it. Will see it it maintains this consistency.

Later,
D

they will perform almost like the Partitions and will retain approx 80% or so of the original weight. and they shoot the same as the ballistic tips with the same load.

Ive been using the accubond for a few months now and shot a good 200+ deer with them and i can say that they work pretty good! Although i would say they do just what the standard Ballistic Tip did, kill deer!! The only thing i would say that is slightly differant is the jacket seems to be abit thicker meaning if you take a front on chest shot, itll nearly go all the way through but sayin that so did the standard ballistic tip as did the combined tech and so on and so forth!!

Basically guys its just another Ballistic tip, re named and restyled!
Great bullet though! Cant fault it!!
