Well guys I'm moving today. Going to be leaving in about 2 hours. First time on my own. Most of my stuff I'm bringing is my tools.
So have a good one everybody, wish me luck for tomorrow at my first day of work for my first Full time job I ever had.
And I still don't know if there is internet where I'm moving to.
Dimitri

A couple of rules when working for the man (employer)...One: Be loyal to the man that signs your paycheck. Do not compain that the place and the people that run it suck. Remember you chose that job and you can quite any time you want. [I would have another job lined up first though]. Two: Be on the job ON TIME. Preferable at least 15 minutes early. Three: Work until it's time to go home. Most places require you to set up and break down on your own time. Four: When you quit that employer, than and only then, can you bad mouth that company. Remember if you quit enough jobs for what ever reason employers start to wonder about you and you get harder to hire...Have a ball and good luck
Mike

Because you can quit any job at any time you want it shows bad taste to bad mouth former employers...Just like a school teacher out of work..."No class "

I only mentioned it because I have the dubious honor of participating in the hiring process here and on more than one occassion, applicants have started on little rants about how everything was wrong at their last place of employment or how they couldn't get any cooperation or the boss was a tyrant..ad nauseum, and when I'm sitting there listening to them I have to think, "what will this person say about us when they leave here?"
It doesn't exactly endear one to the applicant. I know I'm repeating myself, but everyone owns what they say, and you can't un-say something.

Unfortunately, too often being the bad guy gets left up to me entirely. It is a dubious honour, because I can imagine how the person feels when they are let go, everyone takes it personally. I do subscribe to the notion that people fire themselves, however, nobody here gets fired on a whim, they have to have screwed up royally. Still, there's only two people I've ever fired in my life where I thought "great, good riddance" and over the years in different jobs I've had to fire maybe...ten or twelve.

Been there done that when I was Service Manager at a GM Dealer for almost 20 years. It's funny how some seem to have no clue what they did wrong even after several warnings. Then there are those that didn't deserve a warning.
