Hmmm i dont think that it was unsafe firing but that the gun blew up

Well first he was probably shooting reloads, the gun jammed and instead of trying to fix the jam itself he wanted to play it cool with the forward assit.

Jam -> 24 seconds in.
Remove Magazine -> 27 seconds in
Remove Round -> 28 seconds in
"Look" at chamber -> 29 seconds in
(should have looked alittle better at the chamber and barrel)
Replace Magazine -> 31 seconds in
Don't rack the bolt on a round and instead beat on the forward assist -> 33 seconds in
(Any Logic to this ??)
Rack Bolt -> 34 seconds in
2nd Misfire -> 38 seconds in
Remove round -> 39 seconds in
Hit forward assist agian -> 41 seconds in
Wack magazine into well -> 44 seconds in
(The round is chambered was there any need ??)
3rd Misfire -> 47 seconds in
Remove round -> 48 seconds in
Remove Magazine -> 50 seconds in
Have buddy come in -> 50 seconds in
(At this point he should have feild stripped the rifle and check all the ammuniton)
Replace magazine -> 54 seconds in
Rack Bolt -> 57 seconds in
Wack Forward assit -> 58 seconds in
Ruin AR-15 -> 62 seconds in.

Sorry if you don't see all the mistakes he did in that string of shooting. Shocked

Haha... serve him right..

Weekend warrior wannabe, watching too many action movies where the "hero" slams the action/mags etc, to look "tough".

I used to have friend who reckon all shooting must be accompanied with a great recoil action, so, regardless on whatever I or any other shooting person on that particular day tell/show him, this guy would lift the muzzle ear high after pulling the trigger to act a recoil. Even with a 22 short on a bull barrel rifle!!

My method might be time consuming but after the first jam myself I'd have field stripped the rifle. Once you get used to what rifle you have it shouldn't take that long to field strip. Laughing

You're right though, always best to err on the side of caution. YOu're better off to field strip the weapon and find out you didn't need to, than need to field strip the weapon and NOT do it. Personally, I don't have that great a face Sad

that is one thing that scares me is getting it jammed and exploding.
