This is what happens when you forget to remove the bore sight tool.

Hey Paul,
Dont know, a friend sent me the Pics. But it looks like the damage stopped at the forearm, so I would think the injury was only to the shooters pride.

Now I see someone forgot a basic firearm safety rule. "Check the bore for obstructions before shooting" Shocked That bore sighter stoud up quiet well I was expecting it to be in a much worse shape after seeing the first pricture. Shocked

Reminds me of what my hunting instructor said. "Don't lisen to anyone that tells you to put something on or in the muzzle of the gun.". He was refering to people who make mention of putting bubble gum or Glad Clear Wrap to "protect" the barrel from dirt but I'm sure this can apply to this as well. Shocked

Space,
You can get a replacement barrel for the SKS here:

www.e-gunparts.com/mod...idDept=229

For 20-30 bucks, I would not fool with the thing, take it off and use it for a tomato stake.

Just how could one forget and leave a bore sight in the muzzle and call themselves a safe person with firearms. Ya mean no one saw it before he loaded and fired??? Or maybe he bore sighted with a loaded rifle. Could that be???
