My favorite gun shop just raised prices on IMR powders to $20.50 per pound. That is the most I have ever paid for powder. What are you good folks paying for a pound of powder? All the best...

Hey Gil,
Lead is going up also. Sad I was told factory loaded cartridges will soon be about 10% per box higher. Don't know how much of an increase projectiles and loose shot will take yet.

Powder per pound? Most brands were running around $18 (plus sales tax), $20 here now.

I hope powder never hits the $100 mark. I have noticed that bullet prices are going up, too. All the best...

If I buy locally, I have to pay between $26-30/lb. I usually buy in quantity from Powder Valley (several other guys joining in the order) so we can spread out the haz-mat and shipping. After that is divied up, it comes to about $20/lb.

Industry sources at the beginning of the year were hinting that component and loaded ammo prices would increase 25 to 35% by year's end. China and India are putting pressure on supplies, copper and lead prices have increased in response as well as cotton (the prime ingredient in gunpowder). Fuel surcharges are now common, too.

AA9/5/2 20.50
H4350 19.50
H322 19.00
H4831 18.00 (from shipment before last)
W231 17.50
Unique 18.00
IMR 4895 20.50 about the same for most IMR

Winchester primers went up $1.15 dealer cost per 1M, last shipment, plus the fuel surcharge. Prices above represent current store powder prices with a 5% increase projected for new shipments.

More increases are probable in the short term.
