I found an 8lb jug of IMR4895 for just over $200 with tax whilst over in May when I hadn't seen any at ANY price for more than a year.
That, 2,000 LR primers for $64 & the 2,000 bullets I picked up from Wideners for $320 delivered means I'll have plenty of 7.62x51 to get through over my next few visits & for less than $0.35 a round.

Higginson's out east has been getting more product in lately but not the stuff I want. They have had 8 pounders of the three new IMR powders for a while now. Unfortunately the only one that I have tried is the 4166 in my son's T3 30:06 - it worked great with 125 gr Partitions so I bought a few more cans of it. The beauty of Higginson's is that they will pay the freight on powder orders over 21 lbs. (? I think it's 21) which means a lot when they are sending it across the country for me. The bad thing here is I haven't tried the 7977 or 4451 yet. Sure would like to order up big jugs of it but don't know if it'll work for me yet. Last year I hesitated like this on the IMR 8208XBR - by the time I figured out it worked for me they were sold out and it took six or seven months to scrounge up more. Ah well it gives me something to do in my spare time - scrounging for powder Smile

Yeah and I'm ready to make the jump to the semi-pro ranks. Kinda sad really.... but it keeps me (mostly) out of trouble
