I do not excuse what Brown did and I do not think that the grand jury made the wrong choice all I meant was I have been hurt worse then the officer was just messing around with my brothers. Red spots on his head that look as though he was rubbing his skin creating a little friction just before they took pictures of his face are not bad injuries. Believe what you will but unless I see a bit more I do not believe the man was in as much danger as he led others to believe he was. As for chicken shit cops, I am a law abiding citizen and I have dealt with chicken shit cops a time or two. Yeah i speed at times and stuff like that but when an officer questions me about the car I am driving and accuses me of stealing it when I had permission to use it and he gets forceful for no reason then that is what leads to foolish needless deaths. I assure you there are a lot of worthless cops out there. No not all are bad and not all are worthless but they do exists. I am more outraged over what happened to Trayvon Martin then what happened to Brown. I also have to agree with a quote I saw today...
Not much of a COP ,to have to shoot him 7 times to stop him!!!!! He wanted to make SURE the boy was DEAD!!!! What a SHAME!!!!!

Well, as someone who has been in a similar position as this LEO, albeit I did not shoot anybody, but it was close...closer than I like...I can understand how he reacted. The number of shots fired is a testament to the fear he was feeling and his level of training/expertise. Fear and adrenalin do funny things to a man, one of which is everything going into slow motion (it's a shame that you can't use the extra time of slow motion to take a better sight picture). Buck Fever is a form of adrenalin reaction, and we all know what that does to a hunter.

I agree with your statement about the type of Police there are out there...there are good and bad. Fortunately the good far outnumber the bad. One thing I did read about one time, and it was confirmed by a mate who is a LEO in NY, is that there are quite a few individuals who have a superiority complex, and they gravitate to the law enforcement roles to satisfy their need for power. Fortunately they are usually pretty quickly weeded out by the system...unfortunately they have a tendency to move from one area to another and rejoin a different law enforcement group. That is a rare occurrence out here because we only have six States and two Territories (in a country the size of the USA), each with a single Police Service (no Sheriff's Dept) and they talk to one another constantly. Every section of policing...traffic, general duties, CIB, Child Protection & Investigation, plus all of the specialist sections, Homicide, Fraud, Property Crime, Drug Squad, SWAT etc, are all part of the one Government Department. Their level of training is very comprehensive and intensive, and the fools are identified quickly and "moved on". For arguments sake, we have only had four Police shootings in QLD this year, which is a lot for out here.

I don't fully understand your interpretation of the term "chicken sh1t"...out here in Australia it would indicate someone who is a fool, a dickhead. It is my experience that a Police Officer will treat you in the same way he is being treated, and they pick up on a smartars3 or person with an attitude pretty quickly because they unfortunately have to deal with them constantly. This would put a LEO on edge and bring about a quick reaction in event of a challenge because he would half expect it to happen, and when that challenge is life threatening...well, we know where that leads.

It's terrible that anybody in a position of authority has to take the life of another because it is something that has an effect on them for quite some time. The unfortunate part is that more often than not it is a case of "kill or be killed". As a couple of those on here say, they would rather go home to their family at the end of their shift...but they will forever remember what they had to do in the line of duty.

The statement you quote,

"I also have to agree with a quote I saw today...
Not much of a COP ,to have to shoot him 7 times to stop him!!!!! He wanted to make SURE the boy was DEAD!!!! What a SHAME!!!!!"

would no doubt have come from either a journalist who wanted a good story (remember, a journalist will never let the truth get in the way of a good story), or one of the professional activists who have an agenda and use statements like this to keep inciting people in rioting. I too saw an interesting quote the other day as well...it showed Abraham Lincoln saying..."Just because you read it on the internet, it doesn't mean that it is true". Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I was actually amazed at his control. Many police officers don't get as much shooting time as I do. I remember a police shooting a year or two ago in NY. A man who wanted to be shot pulled a 1911 on two NYPD Officers but didn't fire. They shot 15 times a point blank range. The majority of their shots missed, 3 bystanders were wounded. In this situation, he had been in a struggle, was beaten in the face, and still managed to get his shots on target in a public situation. That is above average shooting in my experience. Also, pistols are lethal but not as much as people my believe, especially on a large individual. I'm not sure why a solider would want to carry a 9mm with ball ammo.

Over 6 foot and almost 300 lbs. I'm afraid I would empty my magazine and reload for another round unless he hit the ground first.

This poor officer was armed with a 9mm X 19. I carry a .45 ACP and I do practice on both a bullseye and a B-27 silhouette targets.

So the Ferguson grand jury, who got their information from 60+ witness testimonies plus autopsy reports plus police reports, etc., made a "bad" decision but the people who got their information from media sound bites and street corner gossip know the "real" truth... HUH?!?!?

LOL, heard the truth from my friends gilfriends uncle who know a guy that drink coffee with him every morning in the 7th street and said that his brother's neighbor were sitting in the train next to the guy who know a guy that was there seeing the whole thing from just a couple of blocks away, while ducking behind the public toilet to avoid stray bullets.

I love you Geland, that was good.....i did hear that same line recently from a government informant who was residing in Mexico receiving assault weapons from undercover agents under the guise of tracing gun trafficking set up by Eric Holder who recently stated that "what we see in Ferguson is not restricted to Ferguson" (as if he may know of some other incidents) but just can't disclose it at the moment because right now he's the first Att. Gen. to be held in contempt of Congress, and we have a dubious presidential conundrum going on right now and we certainly wouldn't want to bruise an unblemished hide.

Don't take any of these comments to heart tlo7mm...people are sick and tired of the militant professional activists, who have a very strong agenda, constantly playing the race card to further their agenda.

Also, an awful lot of these rioters are not even remotely interested in who did what to who and who shot who...all they are interested in is the opportunity to smash into and loot the shops that carry attractive items that can be on sold by criminals. That tells me that at least part of the professional activists agenda is driven by crime gangs.

The media are totally to blame for the majority of the trouble that happened after the LEO took down a criminal...they very quickly opened the race box and put the race card out there. They sure know how to get a "story" started then milk it for all they can. (There should be an open season on Journalists!!) it makes me wonder if the journalists are so dumb they allow themselves to be played like a well tuned instrument by the professional activists who want to set things in motion for their own ends, unless...
