Mike, we will be taking some foul weather gear. We'll be hunting on the eastern side of the state near pierre. Since it's our first trip, we booked with a fellow, whose supplying lodging, andportable tables and will also be doing some coyote calling for us. I'm looking forward to the trip.

Heres a little update on the planned hunt. My partner and I just returned from Pierre, South Dakota, from our first P-Dog hunt. Man, what a blast, no pun intended. I managed to take three dogs at 500yds plus. While my partner took one at 800yds. We hunted for three days and shot a few hundred but I got to confess, since most of our shooting was at the longer ranges our % of kills was somewhere in the 10% range. I guess that's O.K. for our first try. We learned alot and I think a return trip will yield better results. I fell in love with the area and the people. We hunted with Jim River guide service which is run by a really good guy named Willile Dvorak. Saw enough dogs to burn out a few barrels but we took our time as that was not our intent. Willie is always ready to call in some yotes for you if that's something that intrests you. He's an outstanding caller who makes and sells his own coyote calls. To sum it up, this is a relaxing, no pressure trip in beautiful country with great people and fine eats. What could be better than a good meal, great conversation and burning up several hundred rounds a day. Can't wait to do it again!

I've never been on a guided hunt, what does something like that run?
Keep it coming...
