Buck and Babe got a young rabbit up, which usually makes for choppy running but they got all on this one.. hes going to be a good runner when he grows a little more and decides to run out a little further...and longer!!thanks for watching.

I've tried watching a few of your videos Mudcreek.
They still have me a bit puzzled as to what is actually happening.
How about slashing the paddock then taking the dogs for a run

I agree Tiks...I think I've only seen two rabbits over all of the videos. Put a slasher through the paddocks and you will see the bunnies no problem. Also, not sure how long I could put up with the dogs barking the way they are. As much as I like beagles, the sound of that barking would drive me crazy.

Lol for you guys not in the states im sure this does seem odd. The dogs dont constantly chase behind rabbit chomping on his heels. They dig through briars and such to where a rabbit is bedded in which makes the rabbit bust out and start running(usually giving him a few seconds advantage ahead of dogs but he leaves a scent trail(we just say "the line")

The dogs have to follow.the scent trail ACCURATLY with as few(or no)breakdowns. A rabbit always runs a circle theres a lot of zig zags in there though its not just a perfect easy circle. Rabbits double on their own lines(run 1 way then turn around and run the same way backwards trying to.confuse the dogs)take big leaps creating a gap in the line etc. But the point is the dogs must stick with him and bring him to.the gun. I think whats confusing you guys is your applying how your rabbits act in your terrain. Its WAY different. Walk through a completly open field around here and you wont see a rabbit because hawks swoop and get them. My summer videos are not at all about people seeing the rabbit. Im following and filming/showing the dogs work because thats the most important thing to me. I wouldnt have no use for a dog who just crash around as fast as he could trying to eat rabbits its about the dogs running it right. During hunting season when a rabbit is shot hes usually anywhere from 20-30 seconds to a minute or 2 ahead of the dogs thsts about the normal and thats safest that way when we shoot, the dogs are in no danger of being hit by a shot.

There may be too big of a gap between where we live/how we hunt for you guys to understand fully(at least just by watching videos anyway). Happy to answer any questions you guys have ill try explain it the best I can!
